Modernity has a profound positive impact on our life style in many ways. But, along with its manifest benefits, modernity has brought a special range of troubles into our lives which we would be wise to try to unpick and to understand. Today’s fast-paced, career-centric lifestyle has redefined the meaning of relationship and social interactions. Nowadays, no one has either time or patience to lead a life with love and empathy since everything is measured in ‘Likes’, ‘Tweets’, and ‘megapixels’. The houses and the apartment dwellers provide a powerful impact over the art lover. It has many interwoven stories in it which rather makes the narration still more intricate. As you can see, many of the residents are either busy with their mobile taking selfies or indulged in office gossips. These aspects indicate the fake relations among people which are restricted just for temporary indulgences of life. Going away from my usual style, I have experimented with mix-and-match of colors in this work to indicate the various moods of characters. The outward laughs, success parties, frustrations, impatience, and other various emotions are brought into life through bold yet subtle brushstrokes. The half closed doors, dimly lit windows, old aged people discussing their domestic problems with children, lady waiting for her husband depict the insecurities and imperfections of society. Even though the ambiance is dark, the emotions in people’s face are brought out clearly with great degree of detail and smooth transitions of colour gradients.
