Maya is conceived as a personification of the forest in her various avatars. The gold leaf alludes to various natural elements such as fire, sun, growth as well as the sacredness of the forests. Maya is part of my present series “Cosmic Bloom: Iconography for a Re-imagined World Order”. This body of work consists of sculpture, installation and video art.
