Ganga

Ganga Rivers have been associated with goddesses in Indian mythology. This illustration was designed to depict symbolically the River Ganges. The river is said to descend from heaven from matted locks of Lord Shiva. It is considered to be the most sacred river in India and one is considered to be purified after bathing in her sacred waters. The idea was to communicate the appalling state of the river in the country and re-establishing the identity by associating it with God.
