The World - Limited Edition of 10

The World was the first Tarot card I painted from my Tarot series, as well as my very first painting of 2020. I initially intended to create a single artwork, but something about the card drew me into creating my very own deck. It took me about a month to create this particular painting & perhaps the longest time it took for me to create a single card. Every detail is purely digital brush work, without any textures or collage work. I followed mostly the Rider-Waite Tarot meanings for my deck, however few cards do come with changed meanings & symbols. The card shows a woman who is wrapped in a purple scarf, dancing inside a laurel wreath, the flowers represent all sensible things, she is guided by the Divine Watchers, as she dances, she looks towards her past while she moves forward to her future. The two wands in her hands symbolize manifestation with the help of the Magician, which has now come to a completion. The four Zodiac signs: Leo, Taurus, Aquarius & Scorpio represent the four elements, four seasons, four suits of the Tarot, four corners of the Universe & four compass points which are to guide one from one phase to the next, bringing balance and harmony to one's journey.
