Butterfly Window

The definition of “Nature” has been changed in this last century. We created compact networks of concrete jungle by erasing the green from the earth. We erased more than half of the animal population too. The work “Butterfly window” takes us to that fantasy world where architecture is an organ of nature. The magical kinetic movement of the white glorified window is actually mimicking the movement of the butterfly wings, trying to merge itself with the intricately cut foliage in the front. From another viewpoint the work is mocking the human engineering of making skyscrapers by destroying the nature, while adapting organic forms and technologies. It questions the authenticity of the growing apartment cultures that is offering so called “natural living/ eco-friendly living”.
