Postmodernism Series - IV
Sanjay Prajapati is a Contemporary Abstract Painter with a distinctive style, creating works he calls exotic versions of heaven – places that are beautiful and meditative not commonly found on earth.
Sanjay’s most popular paintings use metal leaf of gold, silver or copper, expertly combining their illuminated qualities with paint. Another popular style of Sanjay’s begins with his unique process to create a luminous white surface. This enhances color into intensities that appear like glowing gems.
Born and raised in Baroda, Gujarat, he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Maharaja Sayaji Raw Gayekwad University.
His expertise covers a wide variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media. While Sanjay’s works with inventive techniques and materials, he consistently uses archival methods to create works that are made to last. Sanjay in his typical style executes landscapes using abstract forms. He uses thick layers of colors with vigorous strokes. He has also experimented with paintings made on clay.
