The Eternal Trap
I usually begin a painting with just the Form, as I keep adding to the imagery. Throughout this process, I pay particular attention to the structure and ultimately arrive at a composition that I deem suitable to be the vehicle of my narrative. I find the construction process to be more important than the outcome itself.
The world as we ordinarily understand it is like a dream: Fleeting and illusory. To be trapped in samsara (the cycle of birth and death) is a result of ignorance of the true nature of our existence.
Inspired by the poem “Abar Ashibo Phira ( when I Return) By “Jibananda Das”. This poem speaks about rebirth and dreams. The poet thinks that if he is born not as human in his re-birth then he would prefer to live in a different Form, Space, and Time. It's like an endless journey or as an individual…a transformative experience like a butterfly.
Every human being is full of references and ideas from their experience. These characters and elements are kind of key to enter into my work.
