My self

My work concentrates on natural habitats and aesthetics as my childhood and adolescence has been spent in the lap of nature. I belong to the family of farmer that is why I adore the phenomena of the earth. There is a need for humans to grow and nurture our relation with the nature in today's society. the essence of nature, forms, colours, textures and other elements inspires me. Using printmaking (woodcut & etching) as a medium, I interpret my experience. Initially, I would use machine made papers as the surface, until I learnt and practiced the techniques of papermaking. I have started preparing my own surface, suitable for my print artwork, using natural fibres acquired from the agricultural waste. For example; like the waste from the banana plantation. Surface of the paper is as essential as the form and its concept.
