Mixed Tales of Folklore series: Through the lenses of Madhubani, Jain and Mughal Miniatures, Warli and Godna painting, Pahari school and many others investigates the traditional Indian and related art Asian forms, that have been neglected and overshadowed by the turmoil’s of colonization and western art history dominance. Form, color, different perspective and abstraction have been pioneered and studied extensively thousands of year’s prior in India, Asia and South Asian subcontinent comparing to its western counterparts. The prints intent to highlight the importance these forms have achieved, as they grow even more relevant in towards contemporary times- contributing heavily towards the conversations and questioning the foundation of the inventions of deconstruction of figures, non-representational, abstraction and conceptual themes of art making practices. It is an attempt to reclaim the ignored facets of Indian art history and it’s overlooked contribution.
