Karmanye Vadhikaraste - Infinite Right to Perform Human Hands representing Karma or Actions, are capable of generating infinite possibilities. Its upon an individual to whether treat their hands as a limb for performing routine chores only or to treat it as a control panel of tremendous opportunities. We often hear people using the term “God willing” in various context, but the day human beings understand that God gave hands to them so that they could take charge of the universe, we will have no more to complain. My following thoughts are reflected in the attached paintings: a) Action by Chance: In the dice-based board games, while playing people desire to get certain numbers while rolling the dice, but even if they don’t get it, they make the best possible move/act with the numbers achieved, according to best of their understanding. If only this could get replicated in the real-life situations, wherein people learn to take appropriate action in time within the resources available, the game of life would keep them interested, involved and intriguing till the end. b) Our Earth Our Karma: The potter converts the moist mud into beautiful usable pots/vessels with the controlled movement of its hands against the directions in which the wheel is spinning. If we see spinning Potter’s wheel as the rotating earth, moist mud as compassion soaked human endurance, to this if all our collective unified action/hands start giving shape, against/overcoming the divide of cast, creed, religion, skin colour, rich/poor and so on, to make our world a happy environment friendly place to live for all kinds of living beings (plants, animals and evolved animals) and for the generations to come, we will not have to look up for heaven. c) Choice of Time: Sometimes we feel we do not have enough time for all the actions that we would like to perform, and at times we feel that we missed taking the right action in time. When we are happy the time flies and when we are sad the time comes to a standstill. No one can manage time as time keeps moving at its own pace, but it’s in our own hands/actions to choose what time we are having. d) Undesired Returns: The 5 stack of coins depicts Money, Ambition, Love/relationships, Happiness & Health. With our every action we secretly or openly desire for returns in any one of the above 5 forms, or in a mix of some or all of it, in various proportions. All the desired results have been depicted as coins as it would be easier to shift the stack to represent the proportion in which the outcome is desired. However, the point I want to make is whatever we may desire in return of our actions, it does not come because we desire for it, it comes only if we perform the action well. Instead of thinking of how much we want, if we focus on what we want to create or do, and what we create is worthwhile, the returns will automatically follow. Infinite Right to Perform is a choice available to all of us, its upon us to complicate it or keep it untangled. May our Karma and Karma alone give us the joy of fulfillment.
