Ganesha

Ganesha is one of the most important gods in Hinduism. Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati and he is the brother of Karthikeya.He created by his mother using tumeric which she moulded in to shape of a boy. To that shape of a boy lord Vishnu gavr life with his powers.parvati devi felt so happy looking at her son as shiva was away on his meditative wanderings, Parvati set her new son as guard while she bathed un expectedely shiva returned home on finding the boy and outraged at his impudence in claiming he was parvati son and ganesha not allowing shiva to enter into the home. Shiva got angry both fought very aggresively. Finally shiva with his thrisula lopped off (removed) ganesha head from his body and burnt the head by opening thrinetram.At the commotion parvati ran out and remostrated with shiva for killing their son.Eventually shiva hada agreat devote of lord shiva.He asked lord Shiva that he should always give her presence with shiva.at that time shiva remember this boon and he sent his bhutaganas to take the head of gajjasura.so that ganesha gained a gajasura head (elephant head) gaja means elephant.he has many names like ganesha,gajanayaka, Vinayaka.In our india the first prayer start with worshipping lord Ganesha.
