Duality

This work with graphite pencil in white paper depicts two faces, one of a child under captivity and the other of a man in Theyyam, a ritualistic cultural art form of Kerala, South India, with a fierce nature. The fierce Theyyam with the expression of Shantham ( i.e., at peace) in the picture, is used to depict the duality of personalities around us with false faces. The child depicts the victim.
