My art is based on the notion of inward journey for finding tranquillity and the philosophy of mysticism. My actual everyday life, my aspirations, my struggles, and my life experience are always at the core of my imagination. It’s an interplay of art and life, as much as life influences my art, my art in turn, influences my life. I have found painting as my medium to think, communicate and create.  I believe that “Being in the moment", is the phrase which describes the meditative state. For me the act of making a painting is meditation. My painting consists of concentric circles. Working on the repeating pattern, certainly lead me quickly to that mindless place where I can linger, as long as it takes. My compositions are on a single plane, with no use of perspective which depicts that ‘present’ is the reality. It allows me to be mindful of my own existence.  In this materialistic world, distinguishing needs from wants is an ever present life challenge. Choosing minimalism makes it easier. This is evident in my paintings too wherein all complex forms and textures disappears. My painting consists of more simplified forms like circles and semicircles which depicts my minimalist approach towards life. My compositions are simple which allows the viewers to experience immediate pure visual response and pure qualities of colour, form and space.   I hope my art evokes a sense of tranquillity, positivity, state of meditative being and sensitivity in the viewer’s mind.
