      Ashok Kumar

Delving into the depths of cultural diversity and human imagination, Ashok Kumar's artistic journey transcends borders, weaving together threads of inspiration from France to New Delhi, India. Born on February 1st, 1965, in the vibrant landscapes of Bihar, India, Kumar's artistic odyssey began at the College of Art, Patna, where he emerged as a beacon of creativity, graduating with distinction in 1987. Fuelled by a relentless pursuit of artistic excellence, Kumar embarked on a transformative voyage of learning, securing a coveted scholarship for advanced studies in fine art at “L’Ecole Superieure des Beaux-arts de Marseille, France”, in 1990. His dedication and talent were further recognized with a prestigious senior fellowship in painting from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in 2015-16, a testament to his enduring commitment to his craft. Kumar's artistic repertoire is a kaleidoscope of imagery, a symphony of symbols and signs that speak to the human experience and our intrinsic connection to nature. Through his mesmerizing creations, he invites viewers into a realm of heightened consciousness and spirituality, where semi-figurative forms intertwine harmoniously with the organic world, evoking a sense of wonder and awe. A true global citizen of the art world, Kumar's work has traversed continents, leaving an indelible mark on audiences from France to Peru, from China to Chile, and beyond. His participation in major national and international workshops, festivals, art residencies, and exhibitions has earned him acclaim and admiration worldwide. Notably, his art has graced the prestigious ARTSY PAGE by ACS Gallery, Chicago, USA, in 2017, captivating audiences with its profound beauty and depth. In the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art, Kumar remains steadfast in his commitment to uplifting the cultural heritage of India while embracing the universal language of creativity. His presence in numerous international art exhibitions from 2020 to 2026 underscores his unwavering dedication to sharing his vision with the world. To experience the trans-formative power of Ashok Kumar's art is to embark on a journey of enlightenment and introspection, where boundaries dissolve, and the essence of humanity shines forth. Artistic Statement My creation explores new vision through the imagination of the human being as an origin belongs to our cultural diversity with many symbols and signs. What we indulge or experience in the surrounding nature with positive vibes and thoughts are usually creating ecstasy in our mind and radiates peace with togetherness. I depict aesthetically the semi-figurative human form with the relevant combination of nature and other organisms in my creation to explore the high consciousness and spirituality.
