Change is a part of every artist's journey, In my works too. The concept of change plays a crucial role in reflecting the progression of my journey as an artist, and also in capturing the influence of time. Initially I started working on the theme of abstract landscape full of richly textured , rough surfaces. It is through these rough surfaces which capture the imprints of journey and time, I attempt to take the viewers through the experiences of daily surprises. Gradually I have moved from the theme of abstraction to the depiction of real objects in expressing my thoughts and understandings of the impact of time. In the second phase of my works I have drawn heavily from my childhood memories of my village mahuva in Gujarat- Especially the image of the rural houses. The concept of change plays the central role here, as the works capture the flow of time through the gradually changing images of the rural house in the modern era. I perceive the shift in my works both in terms of theme and style, from abstraction to real, as a gradual, spontaneous transition which comes naturally in every artist's way of exploration.
