Hello, I am Mallikarjun Salimath from Solapur ( Maharashtra) . My artworks in cow dung. The wall paintings at Ajanta Verul have always fascinated me. The style I used there was inspired by the fresco and tempera method. While thinking of adopting such a natural method, like this medium when looking for a different style I got an idea of “dung”. After some years of experimentation, I could develop this style today. The basic motive behind dung is that it has always held a prominent place in Indian culture. We worship dung as a symbol of Lakshmi.Lakshmi smells in a dung driven house, but today the tiles, colored floors have been replaced by traditions, traditions and densely populated courtyards.
