Stillness

Spell of gusty rain
All is shaken, leaves fallen.
Moment of stillness.

Rain has been a recurring theme in my photographs. Having lived in a country like Singapore for many years, one soon realises how integral rain is to daily life. It has given me poetic escape from the humdrum. To observe the wet earth, to feel its dryness yearning for rain, to relish the gentle light showers or the display of its vigour - I have always been drawn to all its forms and effects. This print to me, conveys a sense of stillness and calm that rain brings to that hot humid country. 

This print is made on premium archival paper from Hanhemuhle (Photo Rag Bright White smooth paper, 310 gsm), and includes a 1/4 inch border.
