‘Surya Namaskar’ or ‘Sun Salutation’ is a practice in yoga incorporating a sequence of gracefully linked asanas dedicated to the vedic-hindu solar deity Surya.
My mother has been practicing Yoga for almost 17 years. She not only practices it herself, but also teaches it to a group of people. She got introduced to Yoga as a kid in her school programme. After school she lost touch, but then again found it years later just to realize that she still has the same devotion towards it. It is something which takes her back to her childhood and she can completely relate to it.
She starts her day with an hour’s routine wherein the first series of asanas is Surya Namaskar.
For her Yoga directly associates to ‘nirogi kaya’ or a body free of all diseases.
