Elephant Corridor

In this diptych we are shown two simultaneous images of a pristine, unspoilt, natural habitat, where elephants roam freely and an adjacent image of massive urbanization and encroachment upon forest land that destroys this habitat, inset in a red background that suggests destruction of the species, as it tries to crisscross back to the forest in a line across the two canvases, the golden colour suggesting the valuable nature of wildlife that we need to save. The smoky city is almost breathing its last, just as the forest is also being sucked into a blackhole of deforestation.
